We would like to briefly inform you about the most relevant novelties in our webinar. This will help you to determine which measures have to be taken.

What to expect:

I. New requirements of the British data protection law

The requirements for companies that process personal data of British citizens or process personal data within the UK are stated in the “UK GDPR”.

These companies are potentially obliged to designate a UK DPO and/or a UK Representative for the United Kingdom. This is relevant in case you process personal data of British citizens or if your company is located in the UK. (Vice versa this applies to companies from the UK processing data from European citizen.)

We present you a flowchart which should support you with the decision making whether or not you need to designate either a UK DPO and/or a UK Representative. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance on this matter. ePrivacy can offer you services as UK DPO as well as UK Representative.

II. Third country transfers between the EU and the UK

Until the end of a transition period the UK is currently not classified as a third country. Thus, chapter V of the GDPR including all the measures and requirements are not yet applying for transfers to the UK. Nevertheless, this only applies for the transition period of 4 months until the 30th of April 2021. This transition period could be prolonged for another two months until the 30th of June 2021.
