Since December 6, 2025, the German NIS-2 Implementation Act has entered into force. Affected companies must therefore already begin aligning themselves with the NIS-2 requirements.
NIS-2 is the extended EU Directive on Network and Information Security. It mandates security measures and incident reporting obligations for companies and organizations operating in critical sectors. This also includes many organizations that were not previously affected.
