Did you know that there are federal funding programs for SMEs that provide financial support for consulting services in the realms of data protection, data security, and information security?
The “Promotion of business consulting for SMEs” initiative by the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) aims to strengthen the “prospects of success, performance and competitiveness as well as the employability and adaptability of small and medium-sized enterprises” using consulting services.
This program has been extended until 31 December 2026 and allows Germany companies to receive funding for up to five consultations, with a limit of two per year. The assessment basis and subsidy rate depend on the type of company (start-up, existing company, etc.) and the region in which the company operates. The maximum subsidy varies from €2,800 to €1,750, depending on the location.
